Our 4th Annual Norman Melhiser Samaritan Awards Dinner will be held on September 27, 2012 at Huber's Winery, Plantation Hall. The Emcee for the event will be the loved Rachel Platt from WHAS-11.  On top of that, I am thrilled to announce that the 2011 Division II National Champion Basketball Coach from Bellarmine University, Scott Davenport has agreed to be our Guest Speaker!  We at PCS are thrilled that Coach Davenport will enlighten us with his wisdom, knowledge, and antics at the awards dinner.  How blessed we are! Come out and join us and be blessed too. We promise your evening will be filled with great food, wonderful Silent Auction items, and engaging entertainment.

Now onto some business!  As many of you know, our ongoing challenge at PCS is securing the necessary funding to serve the uninsured, underinsured, and homeless who so desperately need our services.  Last year, PCS served 2,752 persons; sixty-one percent (61%) were children and youth, and forty-seven percent (47%) were at or below the federal poverty guidelines.

Hardly a day goes by without a reminder of the great need in our society of mental health services.  For example, we continue to see an increase in the number of people who need mental health services.  As a matter of fact, ABC News reported that 1 out of every 4 people will need mental health services during their lifetime.

We at PCS feel proud and encouraged that more and more people are finding hope and healing as a result of our services to  achieve wellness of body, mind and spirit.  Thanks to generous people like you, we are able to make a small impact in the issues our community faces everyday.  As we work together, we will soon make that impact even larger!
